Our History: The Legacy of Corazón de Dioses Mezcal

In the mountains of Guerrero, where the tradition of mezcal has been passed down from generation to generation, Mezcal Corazón de Dioses was born. This story began more than a century ago, when Don Ezequiel, Alex's great-grandfather, discovered the art of distillation at a time when mezcal was still illegal. As an outlaw of the time, he fought for his love of mezcal, until his family saw their plantations destroyed by the authorities. However, his passion and dedication to the land and the agave never disappeared.

Through his sacrifice, Don Ezequiel became one of the first mezcal masters in the region, passing on his knowledge to his children and grandchildren. The legacy of his effort and love for the mezcal tradition lives on today, guiding our hands and hearts in every bottle we produce.

Alex and Braulio's paths crossed at the perfect moment. Alex, with his deep connection to the mountains of Guerrero and his family history, and Braulio, who found in mezcal a story of effort, art and tradition that deserved to be told, decided to join forces to continue the legacy of Alex's great-grandfather.

Between trips to the palenques, long conversations with mezcal masters and nights sharing stories around a campfire, they understood that mezcal is not just a drink. It is a bond that unites people, stories and emotions. This is how Mezcal Corazón de Dioses was born: an authentic mezcal, respectful of tradition, but designed to be enjoyed in the present.

Today, we continue to celebrate Don Ezequiel's legacy, bringing the spirit of Guerrero to more tables, more encounters and more unforgettable moments. Because the best mezcal is not only drunk, it is lived and shared.
